Stretchies for Grandbabies

Had some birthdays last week and I am big on corrupting the grandbabies

The bracelet is one I made for the birthday girl's little brother, a 3 year old. She got a pink one. The o-rings are glow-in-the-dark. Got them from "nototo" on Etsy. (highly recommend her!!!)

I won't do it this way again because it doesn't stretch enough. First I made a regular Euro 4 in 1 stretchie and it was just too floppy. Soooooo I gave the edges a HP 3 in 1 finish. I have yet to crawl in the closet to see if they glow in the dark... I'm sure the kids will check that for me.

Also made a really sweet Elfweave- 20 gauge, 1/8 inch ID. PINK and PURPLE!!! Perfect for a six year old girl. She got it before I could get a pic.

Week 27, Beadstyle Necklace

This was a change of pace for me. Someone on the forum wondered about this necklace from Beadstyle, and the only way I could ethically answer the question, what with the copyright laws and all, was to make the necklace and post it. I'm glad I did because it was fun!

Week 26, Roosa Chain

This is another one of Maaria's tutorials. (do we see a pattern here... LOL!) I for one think she should write a book because she has a way of explaining difficult weaves in a way that most of us can pick up quite easily.

as for the bracelet, the Roosa weave is really a lovely delicate weave. It looks difficult to do but is really very easy with the right instructions! Thanks Maaria!

Week 25, Pheasible Bracelet

I did this bracelet in 2 different sized rings and have to admit that I really like the smaller rings better. It makes a lovely dainty bracelet. I think I got the instructions from Derakon or http://mailleartisans.org . Since I had to reformat the computer last week I no longer have Derakon's website, but it is wonderful and well worth the visit!

Awww Nuts!

Well, i went to check this page just to see how it was doing and i see that all my piccies are gone... grrrr...
Since all my piccies are also gone from my puter due to a trojan, it's gonna be more fun that i want to think about recovering it all!

Week 28, Beaded Bead

This was really fun to do and my thanks to everyone on the forum for the ideas on how to do it and to Jan for mailing the hardware cloth to me. i know that the picture stinks, my scanner isn't that great for 3-d, but it does look better in person if you don't look too closely!

Week 19, 12-29-04, Oympus Chain

I've made this before with rings with larger AR's, and i just didn't care for them as much as this.  I will say that the larger rings made a great charm bracelet.  This wouldn't because there's no extra room.  As it is, this is delicate and feminine.  The pattern was from WAJ.

Week 24, 2-2-04, Spiral Maaria Chain

This is what happens if you decide to do the "Maaria bracelet" thing with a spiral chain! It doesn't show here, but the 2 colors do spiral- (scanner smooshing again!). It really looks a lot like the caterpillar- just not as "fuzzy!" LOL!

Week 23, 1-26- 05, Diamond Lace

This is only silverplate, but it's so pretty I'll be sure to make it in Sterling. The tute was from MD Morrill on the CWJ forum (Dawn) - msg 7744.1. I really love this design and she claims she was just fooling around with the rings... I'll probably want to use this on a watch and who knows, I might even wear this just because it is SO pretty! Thanks Dawn!

Week 22, 1-19-05, Helm, or Parallel Chain

Have actually had this in the works for *ahem* years, but needed a "catchup" piece... So I finished it and posted it - late, no less.... Sterling and really a terrific piece- another Maaria tute- again I thank you Maaria! I also have to say that the sterling has an entirely different feel than the silverplate I've been using... heavier and wonderful in general *grin.*

Week 21, 1-12-05, Maaria Chain

This is the exact same weave as the Italian chain from last week, but Maaria, from the CWJ forum added something - even before the B & B came out! A bead on each of the loops makes a real difference here! Dresses it up big time. Thanks Maaria!

Week 20, 1-5-05, Italian Chain

This was one of the late posts to Webshots. The pictures in Bead and Button made it look more "glamorous" but maybe it just doesn't photograph well! it's just 2 in 2 with extra links in every other link, so it's REALLY simple- i have a feeling i'm missing something here!

Week 18, 12-22-04, Beaded Byzantine

Christmas presents for Jenny and Angie. I packed them in watchmaker's tins. Emily got hold of Jen's and Jen didn't see hers for DAYS. I think they like them... They haven't said...

As for why I did THESE, well they both like black and red and they both have Byzantine bracelets this size- gauge, etc, so I figured they might be able to pair them up.

Week 17, 12-15-05, Kelly's Song

A gift for SIL Kelly for Christmas. She was born in February - hence the lavender Austrian crystal- and hubby and daughter in July for the ruby. She appeared to like it lots.

Week 15, 12-1-04, Byzantine Bracelet

Jenny requested this for her birthday - says she likes more delicate looks, etc. I remember when I delivered it to her home- Emily wanted it REAL bad *s*

Week 13, 11-17-04, Aislyn style watch

Aislyn had a watch similar to this posted on her site (http:www.urbanmaille.com) and I just HAD to have one... *sigh*. Of course I'm to cheap to buy one of her kits (very reasonably priced, mind you!), so I kind of did my own thing here with a wally word watch face and clasp I had sitting around. It's sideways Byzantine - I've also seen it called "Olivia." Of course EVERYONE picked up on how the clasp looked bad. It kind of bugged me because I repeatedly explained that I wanted to wear it and didn't have the time or $ to go get a different one, yadda, yadda, but people continued to carp about it. Problem was that it really ticked me off so much that I dropped out of the forum for a couple months - I decided I needed a rest from that critical spirit. That's why I no longer respond when someone says they like something I did- or they don't like it- it doesn't matter if the "crowd" likes it or not. I'm doing this for myself, not them.

HEY GUYS, I KNOW THAT THE CLASP ON THIS DETRACTS FROM THE WHOLE "ARTISTIC" THING HERE, SO NO COMMENTS ON THE CLASP ALLOWED!

Caterpillar, Week 12, 11-10-04

Another bracelet that was fun to make- however i don't think i'd wear it! The piccy doesn't show it's fullness because it kind of squishes on the scanner. i do like the colors though!

Week 11, Copper Freeform

This freeform necklace was from a design by Connie Fox in Step By Step Wire. I doubt if i'd ever wear something like this, but it was REALLY fun to make !

A new beginning?

Well someone from the CWJ Group clued me in that now we can use Photobucket as a server for different Blogs and all I can say is YAYYYYY!!!! Every time I'd try to use their resident photo server- picasa, our computer would complain. Eventually I said "phooey," got way behind on the diaries, and got a spiral-bound journal from Barnes and Noble and a little photo album so I have my own record regardless of what happens "computerwise!"

So hopefully now I will be able to keep up a little better.

As for next week, *sigh* , I'm not sure what I'll do yet - think I'll go look through some magazines and books and see what inspires me today... *grin*
